The “Next Generation” Virtual College of Excellence

The Virtual College of Excellence “Next Generation” (The Next Generation Invisible College) has three distinct units:

  • (1) Students (bachelor, master, doctoral, including all lines of study) – UBB Student Fellowship
    • The Excellence/Performance Scholarships’ winners, coordinated by the Scientific Council of UBB, reunited in an Invisible College of Excellence in Mentored Research/ICEMR [research is focused on (a) the fundamental/exploratory, multi-, inter- and trans-disciplinary issues or (b) sports or cultural-artistic field] – Coordinator: Professor Daniel David, Ph.D., vice-chancellor at UBB, and the Scientific Council of UBB
      • During the academic year of 2016-2017, the STAR-UBB Institute will provide 60 Excellence/ Performance Scientific Scholarships, 6 Excellence/Sports Performance Scholarships, and 6 Excellence/Cultural–Artistic Performance Scholarships.
    • Students of the Students’ Academic Performance College/SAPC (research is focused on multi-, inter- and trans-disciplinary aspects, socially relevant and associated to social volunteering) – Coordinators: Professor Ioan Bolovan, Ph.D., Professor Rudolf Graf, Ph.D., and Associate professor Marko Balin, Ph.D. (UBB vice-chancellors)
      • During the academic year of 2016-2017, the STAR-UBB Institute will provide 40 positions in SAPC.
    • Students awarded fellowships for European Doctorate (Doctor Europaeus/Europaea)
      • Ionela Bogdan, Faculty of History and Philosophy
      • Viktória Kulcsár, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences
      • Bartucz Monica, Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences
      • Dragos Onescu, Faculty of European Studies
  • (2) Postdoctoral researchersUBB Postdoctoral Fellowships – Coordinators: Professor Daniel David, Ph.D., vice-chancellor at UBB, and the Scientific Council of UBB
    • During the academic year of 2016-2017, the university will award at least one Postdoctoral Fellowship grant, provided by STAR-UBB Institute.
  • (3) Young researchersUBB Young Fellowships – Coordinators: Professor Daniel David, Ph.D., Professor Dan Lazar, Ph.D., UBB vice-chancellors, and the Scientific Council of UBB

Each excellence unit has integrated actions, such as periodic presentations of the undertaken projects, in order to stimulate multi-, inter- and trans-disciplinary research.
