Dr. Andrada Țurcaș is a specialist in Radiotherapy at the “Prof. Dr. Ion Chiricuță” Oncology Institute in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, where she carries out clinical and scientific activities in the field of pediatric cancers and central nervous system tumors, a domain in which she obtained her PhD in Medical Sciences in 2024. She has participated and continues to participate in numerous national and international research studies and projects in this field. She completed a research internship in pediatric radiotherapy quality assurance at the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) in Brussels, Belgium. She is a member of several international working groups in radiotherapy, pediatric oncology, and neuro-oncology affiliated with European professional organizations. She is a member of the Steering Committee of the Radiotherapy Working Group of the European Society for Paediatric Oncology (SIOPE ROWG), a member of the Young Neuro-Oncologists Committee of the European Association of Neuro-Oncology (EANO), part of the Central Nervous System Tumor Focus Group of the European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO), and secretary of the Steering Committee of the Young Researchers Group (YECI-ROSC) of the EORTC Radiation Oncology Scientific Council. To date, she has actively participated in several national and international scientific meetings, presenting and publishing the results of her research in internationally recognized journals in the field. In 2023, she was awarded the “Rising Star Award” by the European Cancer Organisation during the European Cancer Summit in Brussels for her work and research achievements to date. Her efforts aim to improve the quality of patient care and their quality of life.
