DÉNES Avar Lehel
Areas of interest: biogeography, phylogeography, taxonomy and molecular ecology
DÉNES Avar Lehel – is a scientific researcher with experience in three CNCSIS grants that mainly focused on investigating the role of the Carpathians as refuges, as well as on the diversity of aquatic insects in the context of water quality. The results of these studies highlighted the importance of the region in conserving the current native diversity of aquatic insects. Integrative taxonomy studies have led to the description of several new species of endemic dipterans from the Carpathian Mountains. He has also been the leader of a CNCSIS postdoctoral grant focused on conserving local biodiversity in a European context.
