Fields of interest/specialization: history, provincial Roman history and Latin epigraphy.
Rada Varga holds a PhD in ancient history, being specialized in provincial Roman history and Latin epigraphy. Her main research areas pertain to the fields of Roman social and economic history, as well as prosopography. As an archaeologist, she directs the excavations from Războieni-Cetate (jud. Alba), the seat of one of Dacia’s major auxiliary troops. During the last few years she has also worked in digital humanities, teaching classes and organizing workshops; she is also the coordinator of the Romans1by1 project.
